- University, faculty, and year of study (for eligibility verification)
- Alphanumeric submission code (anonymized link to identity)
- IP address and browser information (if visiting our website)
We do not collect or process sensitive personal data (e.g., health, biometric, political opinions).
3. How and Why We Use Your Data
We process your data for the following legitimate purposes:
- To organize and administer the design competition
- To verify eligibility and contact participants regarding their submissions
- To publicly announce the winners and promote the competition results (only names and project titles)
- To respond to inquiries and manage event communication
- To analyze site traffic and user behavior via cookies (see Cookie Policy)
All data is processed lawfully under Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of GDPR (performance of a contract and legitimate interest).
4. Data Storage & Retention
Your personal data will be stored securely and will only be accessible to authorized members of the Daisler Association team.
- Non-winning participant data will be deleted within 90 days after the competition ends.
- Winning participant data may be stored for up to 3 years, for promotional and reporting purposes.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We may share limited data with:
- Service providers (e.g., travel agencies for booking prizes, email platforms)
- Public media (only names of winners and project information, with consent)
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a data subject, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of incorrect or incomplete data
- Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
